Leash BETA

Delete my account

How to ask for your Leash account and its information to be deleted.

This page is a draft. It describes how Leash works today, during the private beta. The Leash app does not have a button for deleting an account yet, so for now you ask us and a person does it.

How to ask

  1. Write to us from the email address you use to sign in to Leash. If you use a test account, which has a username and no email address, tell us your username instead.
  2. Say that you want your Leash account deleted. If you only want some of your information removed and want to keep your account, say which.
  3. We reply to confirm it is really you before anything is removed.

The address to write to goes here once the support email address is chosen.

What is deleted and what is kept

What is removed, what has to be kept and for how long still has to be settled with a lawyer. For example, a provider may need to keep invoices they have already sent for their own records. The answer goes here before Leash opens to the public.

What you can remove yourself today

You do not need to ask us for these. You can do them in the app.

Pet owners

  • Change your name, mobile number, home address and emergency contact.
  • Replace a pet's photo, and remove a vaccine record.
  • Remove photos that you or your provider added to your gallery. Photos that came with a walk report cannot be removed in the app.
  • Change or clear your door code, and switch a provider's access to it off.
  • Leave a provider's waitlist.

Providers

  • Remove a client you added who has not joined Leash yet. This removes the details you entered for them, their invite link, and every visit, walk report and invoice you recorded for them, so print or share any invoice you want to keep first.
  • Delete a custom service, a group walk, time off and blocked hours.
  • Delete an expense and its receipt photo.
  • Delete an invoice that has not been sent.
  • Replace your storefront photo.

What you cannot remove yourself today

  • The account itself.
  • Messages, and concerns raised about a walk.
  • Walk reports that have been sent, with their routes.
  • Invoices that have been sent.
  • Visits that have already happened.
  • A pet. You can change a pet's profile, but there is no button to delete a pet.
  • A review you posted. You can post it again to change it, but you cannot take it down.
  • Your connection with a provider. The app has no button for ending it yet.
  • A photo a provider added to a customer's gallery. The customer can remove it from their own gallery.
  • The email address you sign in with.

For any of these, write to us.

Signing out is not deleting

"Sign out" ends your sign-in on that phone, and it can also sign you out on your other devices. Your account and its information stay as they are.
